Candidate Filing

Missouri has scheduled municipal elections for April 7, 2026. Eligible voters of the City will have the opportunity to elect two aldermen. Officers serve two-year terms. Regular meetings are scheduled on the third Thursday of each month, normally excluding December.

Declarations of candidacy must be filed at City Hall, 416 Highway Drive. Filing begins at 8:00 am on 12/9/25 and ends at 5:00 pm on 12/30/25.  Normal office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30-12:00 and 1:00-5:00.

 Qualifications:   

  • United States citizen and voter under the laws and constitution of Missouri.  
  • Resident of the City for at least one year preceding the election.
  • At least 21 years of age. 
  • Not in arrears for any unpaid state, county or local taxes or forfeiture; no misuse of funds in office.   
  • Not have been found guilty of, or pled guilty to, a felony.

 Duties:  

  • Participate in all meetings of the Board of Aldermen (except for good cause), including collectively making decisions that are in the City’s best interest.
  • Act as liaison between the City and constituents.
  • Represent the City and give of personal time as needed. 

 Compensation: $50 per month.
